In 2002, the Grand Rapids based Samaritan Foundation recognized the tremendous potential of Michigan State University students with disabilities by initiating a new scholarship program.
The Samaritan Scholar Award extends financial support to outstanding MSU sophomores, juniors and seniors with disabilities who demonstrate achievement and focus on contributing as positive models of ability and citizenship. Founders, James P. and Judith A. DeLapa advocate broad community investment in this award. Scholarships are presented each April during the annual Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities (RCPD) Awards and Appreciation Reception.
Gifts to The Samaritan Scholars Endowment will expand this legacy of maximizing potential and advancing excellence for MSU students with disabilities who serve as positive role models for others. If you are interested in making a gift, please contact the Student Services Advancement Office at (517) 355-7535 or make a gift online.
