The Ruth E. Renaud Enrichment Endowment

The Ruth E. Renaud Student Affairs and Services and Academic Student Services and Multicultural Issues Staff Enrichment Endowment at Michigan State University was established in 1992 through gifts from faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the MSU Student Affairs and Services divison to honor Dr. Ruth E. Renaud who served the division for more than thirty years. 
 
Dr. Renaud served as Assistant Vice President from 1988-1994, Prior to that she held positions as Assistant to the Vice Preisdent (1980-88), Associate Dean of Students and Director of Judicial Programs (1969-1980), and Assocate Director of Residence Hall Programs (1964-69).  Since 1980 Dr. Renaud headed the Educational and Support services unit for the Divison along with playing a key role in several all-University projects such as the Employee Classification Study, writing of the MSU IDEA II, The President's Handicapper Advisory Committee (co-chair), and the ADA Task Force, the task Force on Lesbian/Gay Issues, and the Child Care Planning Project.  She was the Student Affairs representative on the Committee to Review Undergraduate Education. 
 
Dr. Renaud, who has her Ph.D. from Michigan State University, has been assocated with the Department of Educational Administration and was responsible for the practicum placements of masters students in the College and University Administration program. She is highly respected by colleagues for her integrity and leadership, for her committment to fairness and principle, and for her concern and regard for staff and students as individuals.  In addition, she has been a consistent advocate for the role of student affairs staff in educating students for leadership and social responsibliity.
