Kathleen and Milton Muelder Learn-to-Swim Endowment

The Muelder Learn-to-Swim Endowment was initiated by the generosity of Kathleen and Milton Muelder. 
 
Dr. Muelder has been associated with MSU for over 40 years, working in such positions as Chair of the Department Political Science and Public Administration, Dean of the College of Science and Arts, and Executive Director of the Michigan State University Foundation. 
 
After retirement, Dr. Muelder contributed financially to the IM Sports Department at a level which formed an endowment fund for dependent children of MSU students to attend the Learn-to-Swim program free of charge. An avid swimmer himself, even at 98 years old, he swims almost everyday. He has become an icon to staff and students alike while establishing a means for the love of swimming to be passed along to the next generation.
