Mary Beth Knox was a typical college student who valued school, friendships, and family. In March of 2006, she was diagnosed with Sarcoma, a cancer of the soft tissue. Mary was a young woman who's continuous smile, outgoing personality and enjoyment for life was contagious. Throughout the progression of her disease her courage was unparalleled, and nothing short of an inspiration.
On March 27, 2007, Mary Beth lost her fight with Sarcoma at the age of 22. Mary Beth, along with her twin sister Marcy, were Alpha Chi Omegas. This scholarship has been established by her sorority, family, and friends in effort to offer financial assistance to a fellow member of the Greek community while simultaneously working to keep the memory of her incredible life alive at Michigan State University.
The Mary Beth Knox Scholarship is awarded to one member of a sorority and one member of a fraternity each spring during Greek Week in memory of Mary Beth's life.
