The Maureen D. Gladstone Endowment for MSU Safe Place
The Maureen D. Glastone Endowment for MSU Safe Place was established in 1999 by the Glastone family in honor of Maureen's committment to community services and achievement. Maureen was known throughout the Lansing/East Lansing community for her involvement in many chairtable causes as well as for the business she owned and operated, "Maureen G" contemporary clothing in Okemos.
Maureen attended Michigan State University, where she met and married her husband, Marvin. Together they raised 4 children, Kim, Kari, Alexis and Ronald. Three of their children graduated from MSU.
During this time, Maureen became active in Congregation Shaarey Zedek Sisterhood and eventually became its president. In addition, she was president of the Lansing area B'nar Brith Women and the first women president of Congregation Shaarey Zedek.
Maureen did not confine herself just to Jewish activities. She co-chaired the restoration of the Turner Dodge Mansion in North Lansing, was actively involved with the MSU Alumni Association's Kaleidoscope event for women, and an active member of the Women Business Owners Association.
